Sarah Carter is a fervent feminist and advocate for change and enthusiastic member of the YFA. After joining the feminist movement as a college student, Sarah developed her passion for fighting sexism in all spheres. She sought to carve her professional career to create spaces for advocacy, growth, and change and develop powerful leaders to join the cause. Sarah served as a Conference Intern for NOW in 2007, and as the Business Manager for Paradigm Shift NYC. She worked for Dress for Success Worldwide until 2010, and currently serves as the Associate Director of Resources Services for the Department of Intercultural Affairs at Western Carolina University. In her current role, Sarah oversees the women's and gender programs, focusing on empowerment, advocacy, and leadership and overseeing programs such as Western Carolina University's production of Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues, Women's History Month programs, Love Your Body Week, and the G.L.O.W. and E.M.B.E.R. series. She teaches a women's leadership course, and oversees the Whee E.M.P.O.W.E.R. mentoring program. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys seeing live music, traveling, watching baseball, and hanging out with her cat, Oliver.
