Katie Jiang

Young Feminists

Katie Jiang is a 17-year-old junior at Canyon Crest Academy in San Diego, California. She is the co-president of her high school’s youth chapter of NOW, a club that she started after learning about NOW in her world history class and subsequently contacting the local NOW chapter. Katie considers herself a feminist because she strongly believes in the equality of all humans and recognizes the need for society to dismantle the oppression that women in the world face today. Katie is especially passionate about intersectionality in feminism, representation in media, and economic justice for women. Through her school club, Katie has enjoyed forming new connections with other feminists and discovering ways to play a more active role in the feminist movement in her community. In the future, Katie hopes to use CCA NOW Club as a platform for greater change and to empower her peers to fight for equality.
