Join activist, journalist, and co-founder of CODEPINK Medea Benjamin for an in-depth conversation and Q&A about her latest book, Drone Warfare: Killing by Remote Control, as well as information on her trip to Pakistan to meet with victims of drone attacks. The presentation will begin with Things We Make, a powerful theatrical exploration of drone warfare directed by Shana Solomon. The evening will conclude with a signing of Medea's book.
Background: Medea Benjamin visited Afghanistan just weeks after the 2002 American invasion. There, on the ground, talking with victims of the strikes, she learned the reality behind the "precision bombs" on which U.S. forces were becoming increasingly reliant. Drone Warfare is a comprehensive look at the growing menace of robotic warfare, with an extensive analysis of who is producing the drones, where they are being used, who "pilots" these unmanned planes, who are the victims and what are the legal and moral implications.
