The U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in two critical LGBT rights cases challenging Prop 8 and DOMA. Rally with us outside the Supreme Court. Can't make it to D.C.? That's okay -- find an event near you. Take action to show your support for treating same-sex couples fairly and equally under the law. Take action!
NOW's Family Law Committee produces a newsletter with current news and information regarding the crisis for mothers and children in family courts. This issue features an interview with the founder of the Battered Mothers Custody Conference, actual mothers' stories and an article on the Model Code on Domestic and Family Violence. Read more.

NOW President Terry O'Neill writes on The Huffington Post: "Enough already about sequestration. The massive budget cuts that make up the looming sequester are self-imposed and, like last fall's so-called 'fiscal cliff,' present us with two bad alternatives for funding the United States government. On International Women's Day, NOW calls upon leaders in the U.S. to firmly reject the austerity model that has been economically devastating to our sisters in Europe. With a resounding vote of 286-138, the House passed a bipartisan, inclusive reauthorization of VAWA. This is a major victory for all women. NOW thanks the steadfast champions in both the House and the Senate as well as the activists around the country who refused to give up on the countless women who will now be protected in this bill.
