You are invited to join me for a powerful experience of healing and transformation. On Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 10am to 5:00pm, the community will gather at the historic National Black Theater of Harlem to participate with The Mother Wit Conference, a full day of sharing, learning, releasing and healing.
The Mother Wit Conference will offer people of all ages a safe and engaging environment to give voice to their reproductive experiences, including infertility, miscarriages, abortions and post-partum depression, so that the cycle of silence about these issues can be broken and the healing journey can begin for the women and men who have experienced them.
Co-creators Shawnee Benton-Gibson, Sonia Daly and Melissa Madera, present The Mother Wit Conference to shift the secrecy, shame and fear that these experiences conjure. This forum will offer a full day of activities that will promote the free exchange of stories and ideas – either through word or theatrical representation – healing workshops and presentations from the most brilliant academics, healers and practitioners in the field of women’s health. Joining us as Keynote Speaker will be newly elected New York City Council Member Laurie A. Cumbo, Chair of the Committee on Women’s Issues.
People from all walks of life are invited to attend. Attendees are welcome to partake in the conference for the FULL DAY from 10:00am to 5:00pm or to ONLY attend the dramatic presentation of Mother Wit: Echoes From The Womb from 3:30pm to 5:00pm for an adjusted fee. We invite you to share this event with your personal and professional networks. Beloved, It is time for us to release so that we can restore balance and reclaim our power.
