Thu, 9/16: NYAAF Emergency Fundraiser: Cocktails and Silent Auction!

Amanda

Dear supporters,

This week the New York Abortion Access Fund dipped below $1000, less than our average weekly grant total. To replenish the fund and keep our services operating, we are calling an emergency fundraiser for next Thursday, September 16th. Please join us from 6-9pm at Destination Bar for an evening of discounted cocktails, a raffle and silent auction in support of the New York Abortion Access Fund. Please spread the word!

Suggested donation: $20 (or more if you can afford it).

Drink specials! Raffle! Silent Auction!

Abortion should be safe, legal and FUNDED! Pass it on!

Can't come but support the cause? Donate anyway! Via Facebook Causes or via our website: http://www.nyaaf.org/.

Help Support a long-time supporter of women's rights

YoungFeminists

At midnight tonight, we'll close our books for the quarter.  I need your help to send a powerful message to our allies and opponents.
Time and again you've supported our efforts – and I thank you.  But tonight's deadline is critical.  I can only raise the funds needed to run a strong and progressive campaign with your help.  Every donation counts from $2 to the maximum $4,800.
Help us meet our goal by midnight tonight, and show the pundits and the opposition that we are committed to victory in 2010.
For my campaign's hard-working staff, the race ends in November. But for New Yorkers and working families across America, continued progress in Washington is the real finish line.
In the last two years, we've passed historic healthcare reform, credit card reform, and measures to get small businesses back on their feet.
Help me keep fighting for reform by making a $5 contribution right now.  Please click here to contribute online today.
The last few days have reminded me how thankful I am to have your support. For all that you have done in defense of progressive values, thank you.
Now, it's time for the final push. With your support, I'll be able to run a strong campaign this fall.
Join me in making sure that the important work we've started in Washington doesn't go unfinished. Help us reach our $10,000 goal in grassroots donations with a donation of $5.
Sincerely,
Carolyn B. Maloney
P.S. Click here to rush your donation before midnight. Even as little as $5 will help us reach this critical end-of-quarter fundraising goal.

Thu, Mar 4: NY Abortion Access Fund Fundraiser #prochoice

YoungFeminists

New York Abortion Access Fund (NYAAF) is a NYC non-profit that provides financial assistance to low-income women in New York State who cannot afford to pay for their abortion.

It has been another tough year for NYAAF. With the downturn in the economy, they are receiving more requests than ever from women and clinics.  Their all-volunteer board is stretched thin and they are in need of funding to meet this growing demand. To raise the money needed to respond to these increased requests and continue to serve the women of New York, they organized a fundraiser!

If you have any questions, please contact them. You can find out more about NYAAF and the women we serve by going to our website at: NYAAF.org.

NYC for Change: How You Helped Haiti

YoungFeminists

Thanks to all those who attended our "Stand with Haiti" grassroots benefit. It was a moving night, perhaps best expressed in the words of an earthquake survivor who had just arrived in New York.
Soft-spoken and eloquent, she told her story in her native Creole. She reminded all of us how helpful each contribution was to the people of Haiti in rebuilding their nation. How she had seen so many children who were tired and sad, and who have no home to return to.
Through the generous contributions of our wonderful New York City community, we were able to raise $2,250 to help these children rebuild their future. Amity Hall, who had initially pledged 10% of their revenue, ended up donating much more, citing the worthiness of the cause.
Our heartfelt thanks goes out to them and to you. We know you took time out of your busy schedules to attend our event. And for those who could not attend, or would like to give more, please visit Partners in Health online, at www.standwithhaiti.org.
With kind regards,
Aliya Quraishi
